GOOD MORNING WORLD. 2024 /  a hundrich project

On the morning of January 1, 2024, I stood on a hill and looked down into a small valley, a steaming cup of coffee in my hand, a light morning mist, the sun rising… „Good morning,“ I thought, and seconds later, „Good morning, world. 2024  It was with these thoughts that my current project began.

I am inviting artists:working with different media, from Hongkong to the west of the USA, from the south of Africa to the far north.

„A piece of paper, a word, a thought, a photo, a drawing, a picture, a movement, a melody, a film – now, in this moment. Not one snapshot among many, but one that corresponds exactly to this moment.

Good morning world. …. Wake up, look out the window, sit or walk on the street, stroll somewhere, drink a cup of coffee, suddenly you lift your eyes, realize: I am here and this is the world I live in, this is the world I am a part of.

It is… like meeting a familiar person that you have not seen for a long time, even though he or she has always been by your side. And that’s what this project is all about. GOOD MORNING WORLD. 2024

the opening – 13.th of July 2024  …was fantastic. Many more visitors than I expected, a great atmosphere, an excellent concert by „Eardrops“. The weather was just as we had hoped, so visitors were able to move around the studio and garden. Many interesting conversations, exchanges of ideas and encounters.

Later in the evening, even after the official opening, there were still visitors whom I guided through the exhibition. And again – stimulating, interesting conversations. The press wrote about the exhibition, Peter Scherrer from NDR came to the opening, recorded the concert and conducted several interviews with the visitors and me. There was a detailed report on the radio – which I will record, publish if possible, and put on my website.

Many visitors thanked me on Sunday for this great exhibition project in words and many photos of the opening. The exhibition continued to be well attended. On the weekend, especially on Sunday, August 28th. Again, as mentioned at the beginning, great interest, very good discussions and inquiries whether the exhibition could be extended and travel further.

The next, fixed exhibition stations – I have described in the 2nd newsletter, I have extended the exhibition until August 31st due to the great interest.    /  1.st of August 2024

Good morning world. 2024
On August 27, the Rotary Club of Parchim visited the exhibition. We had a wonderful evening, very concentrated discussions about art + as a pointed finale – the special significance of art for a functioning democracy.
The inspiring conversations demanded my full attention, so much so that I forgot to take photos to share this great meeting on social media.

During my preparations for the exhibition of the project „Good Morning World.2024“ in the village church of Herzfeld, I received news of a special surprise. A few days before the official opening of the exhibition on September 29, 2024, there will be a special celebration in the village church in Herzfeld on September 27 – the „Kirche Kunterbunt“. An annual event organized by the parishioners with and for the children of the community.

This year’s theme was the story of Noah’s Ark.

Of course, I took part in the next meeting of the parish – told them a little more about the project „Good Morning World“ – a joint, lively exchange of ideas, that everything, the „Church Kunterbunt“ can be arranged with the project. In front of the altar, Noah’s Ark, was already built and planned beforehand, the Ark should be beautifully colorful, on the left and right, on the walls, the center of the church with the Ark in the center will be framed with the pictures, the artists with their good morning greetings – from the world. Everything else will be found.

Said and painted.  In the nearby parish hall, baking and crafts were done, children were made up, with big ears and noses – transformed into animals, so that Noah’s Ark would make sense.

The story of Noah – as part of the creation of the world – was told, sung, laughed at and the rainbow was celebrated as a sign of reconciliation between God and man.

The opening / 29.09.2024 / Pastorin Alena Saubert, Volker Schubert, Cell0

On September 29th, the official opening of the project „Good Morning World.2024“ took place as planned. The Thanksgiving service was the first event, followed by an impressive exhibition opening by Pastor Alena Saubert. In her insightful words, she drew a connection between religion, art and the present that is often challenging and difficult to bear.

The pastoral address emphasized the „spiritual“ and the spiritual values that inspire people to action. These connections were addressed not only in religion, but also in art, with the exhibition as an expression of the power of images.

Afterwards – my words about this simple and wonderful project I started at the beginning of 2024.  A kind of artistic collaboration in which different artists from all over the world express their unique perspective in a common „Good Morning Greeting“. It’s also about connecting people around the world through art, about artists working together on the same theme who – for the most part – have never met.

A „snapshot“ that symbolizes through different art forms – painting, music, poetry, photography or sculpture – the possibility of daily new beginnings through a simple „Good Morning Greeting to the World“. A message of unity and understanding that transcends cultural and geographical boundaries – an artistic, shared gift from the participating artists to people and the world.

The exhibited works convey deep insights into the nature of human perception and existence. Through their symbolism and representation, these paintings open up a new space for reflection on the present and the poetry that can arise anew in every moment. A moment that remains because that moment has been fulfilled with the means of art.

It is always exciting to see the same „installation“ in different places. To install the work that is almost familiar in a new way, to discover it in a different way than something you have never seen before. It fits perfectly with my desire not to repeat myself, not to get bored.

The interplay of these different aspects is an expression of my unconditional respect for artists, their work, and any space where art can flourish and evolve into something new. These thoughts reflect the philosophy that every moment is unique and every second can be a new beginning. Art has the power to remind us that what exists is of immeasurable importance.

Now I have to smile – I ended my opening speech for the Good Morning World project with the words: „The world is changing at breakneck speed, nothing stays the same. The present lasts 3 seconds – only this „Good Morning World“, the „greeting of awakening life“ – that remains. / Octobre 2024
