Installation with shirts made of rescue blankets 2023

When Hundrich speaks of „human beings,“ he refers to humanity as a whole, regardless of political, national, cultural, religious, or familial affiliations. His artistic perspective focuses on the universal aspects of being human that are common to all people, regardless of their origin, creed, or social background.

By disregarding individual identity and collective affiliation, Hundrich frees his art from any restrictions and barriers. He thereby creates works that can be timeless and relevant to people of all times and places.
His approach emphasizes the essence of being human and focuses on the fundamental emotions, experiences, and challenges that all people share. In doing so, he creates a connection between the viewers of his art and the common human experience.

Hundrich’s work can thus be understood as a universal message that resonates across cultures, nations, and generations. His installation shows shirts consisting of rescue blankets. Here, the golden side is turned outward, for attention, the silent call for help. The silver side, turned inward, so that one’s own body heat is not lost.

Hundrich is an artist at home in a variety of creative disciplines. He has mastered an impressive range of expressive forms, from sculpture and painting to drawing, photography, film, chorography, performance, and the capture of artistic texts. This ability to express himself in different media and through different means allows him to present his visions in a variety of ways. He is what the French praisingly and respectfully call a touche à tout, a toucher of everything. At the same time, his choice and decision of what to create, how and where, depends on inner impulses and the necessity that determines what happens.
It is the humanistic aspect that determines his point of view and thus the theme that tells of man, human circumstances and the becoming of man.
Hundrich’s works are always both abstract and representational, invention of form and association with reality, free play of form and color. Inner and outer world in direct communication.
The artist has worked and lived in Germany, France and Spain. Traveled countries in Asia and America to experience countries, people and cultures in temporary sedentary life, to be artistically active.
